Who is responsible?

Marbotanica, operated by Marlies van der Meer, is responsible for personal data processed through this website.

What data is processed?

• Tattoo requests: name, date of birth, email address, phone number, preferred days, information about style, size and placement, your explanation and uploaded reference or placement photos.
• Contact enquiries: name, email address, subject and message.
• Technical data: your saved cookie preferences and, only after consent, anonymised or pseudonymised usage data through analytics and data from external marketing content.

Purposes and legal bases

Marbotanica uses your data to assess your request, answer questions, prepare a possible appointment and design, keep the website secure and meet legal administrative obligations. Processing needed for your request is based on taking steps before or performing an agreement. Optional analytics and marketing cookies are used only with your consent.

Sharing, storage and security

Data is shared only with service providers needed for hosting, forms, private storage and email, and only for their agreed task. Website form details and uploads are stored privately through the Sites hosting environment. Resend processes email delivery to Marbotanica and the confirmation to the applicant. Google Tag Manager loads with analytics and marketing storage denied by default. Google Analytics and marketing tags may only store data after they have been installed and you have consented. The Elfsight Instagram feed also loads only after marketing consent. When a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses are used.

Retention periods

Contact and request data and uploads are retained for up to 12 months after the last contact, unless needed for a scheduled treatment, a dispute or a legal obligation. Data that becomes part of the financial administration is retained for seven years. Cookie preferences are remembered for six months, after which you will be asked again.

Your privacy rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or transfer of your personal data. You may object to processing and withdraw previously given consent at any time. Email your request to marbotanica.tattoo@gmail.com. Additional identification may be requested to prevent misuse. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

Cookie statement

Optional cookies and external content are off by default. Refusing them does not affect normal use of the website. Through ‘Cookie preferences’ in the footer, you can change or withdraw consent at any time as easily as giving it.

Changes

This policy is updated when the website, providers or legal requirements change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
